Thank you for taking the time to visit the Geauga County Engineer’s website. We welcome you to use our website to better understand our services, review our projects, and find the necessary information for your inquiries.

At the Geauga County Engineer’s Office, our responsibility is to design, construct, and maintain county roads and bridges. We work closely with township trustees to provide engineering services on township roads.

Geauga County Townships

There are 16 townships within Geauga County.

We are responsible for the maintenance and inspection of the 235 miles of County roads, 187 bridges and 577 miles of township roads.

All projects on state roads are maintained by the Ohio Department of Transportation.

Our Duties

What we're responsible for

The County Engineer is required per the Ohio Revised Code, Section 5543, to perform the following duties on all County roads and all bridges on county and township roads: Construction, Reconstruction, Improvement, Maintenance.

The County Engineer is also statutorily required to perform engineering services on all township roads.
