The Geauga County Engineer is excited to add a Professional Surveyor to the team. Currently, the Engineer’s Office has four Professional Surveyors on staff who are responsible to perform all survey work for Geauga County roads and bridges, and township roads. The surveyors spend time in the field acquiring data and information, and also back at the office processing those data points and working through projects. This is a great opportunity for a Professional Surveyor to join a team of other professionals in serving the residents of Geauga County.

Required: Possession of a valid State of Ohio Surveyor’s license, and completion of secondary education or equivalent and experience in the field of surveying.

We are looking for entry level survey candidates who already possess a valid State of Ohio Surveyor-in-Training license. The successful applicant has the opportunity to join a team of Professional Surveyors, learn while on the job, and accomplish tasks in the furtherance of road and bridge designs. Interested in being a Highway Worker I? The responsibilities of the Highway Worker I are to maintain and repair county highway roads and bridges under the close supervision of the Supervisory Staff. They are also responsible for the careful and safe operation of a variety of motorized equipment including snow and ice removal in the winter.

The responsibilities of the Highway Technician I are to maintain and repair county highway roads and bridges under the general supervision of the Supervisory Staff. They will perform a variety of entry level tasks including traffic control, road maintenance work, building maintenance work, and landscaping. They are responsible for some snow and ice removal during the winter.

Required: Completion of secondary education or equivalent; or any equivalent combination of education, experience, and training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. Must obtain CDL Class-A with Tanker Endorsement within one year of employment.
